Like a really satisfying graphic novel (the kind you never want to put down).

It’s hard to imagine ‘Avengers: Endgame‘ living up to a hype already a decade in the making. But it did exactly that. Endgame was the perfect climax, not by being particularly clever or by directing impossible scenes (though there are bits of both), but by putting heart at its center –the fans’ hearts.
At the end of the day, Endgame feels like a gift to the captive audience that has followed the epic since it began in 2008. It’s our love as moviegoers that served as the real emotional core. It only works if you already know the dozens of heroes working the screen at any point in time, and if you care enough to believe. If you loved the original six.
The movie won’t win any technical awards on cohesion and screenplay, but it wins and delivers payoff after payoff. Everything I wanted –and didn’t want– to see, I did. The entire three hours unravelled like a really satisfying graphic novel (the kind you never want to put down).
Endgame is the story of people moving on after the trauma of the Snap, and it’s a story of new possibilities. I am overwhelmed with gratitude that I got to see this in my life. I laughed and I cried and I felt my heart ache very deeply, and I suppose I’m ready to move on.
(After watching it again this weekend).
